Song Association

Do you ever hear old songs from when you were a kid an associate them with some distant memory?

I was listening to XM radio channel 7, the 70s, the Bee Gees' and 'How Deep is Your Love' came on and I got a sudden flash of a memory of looking at Estes Model Rocket catalogs when I was a kid.

Yes I know the song has nothing to do with that, but, what sounds, tastes, or smells triggers unrelated childhood memories for you?

I can hear Bob Seger songs and recall riding with my dad when he drove diesel gas trucks.

Poat whatcha got. I bet it's weird.

When I hear Survivor's "The Search is Over" I think of swimming in LSUS's giant indoor pool. Did the lifeguard's play that song a lot?

Even more strange than that, when I hear The Buggles' "Video Killed the Radio Star" I think of my 5th grade teacher, Ms. Hunt, yelling at my friend,Christi, for talking in class and interrupting her rant about Ronald Reagan.

No, but now that you mention the LSUS pool, they used to play 'Glory Days' by Bruce Springsteen a lot.

Sorry, but if the height of your glory days was high school, well, they'll pass you by...
