New Mickey Mouse Quarter

It's legal tender but there are some obvious complaints about it's durability and use in vending machines.

If it gets broken it's still legal. Sort of like the old 'pieces of eight'.

The government had a surplus of nickles and dimes and Disney has agreed to underwrite the machines to construct them.

They will be in general circulation by the beginning of April.

Special painted versions will be available from the Franklin Mint soon.

You saw it here first!

Botox 'Freedom of expression'

Ironic that Botox is often lampooned as making you unable to express emotion and yet their new tagline is 'Freedom of expression'.

I mean, I had it and I'm ecstatic.

Can't you tell?

Zecco.com

Updated 2/28/08

I like the cost, but other brokerages have faster and easier to navigate sites. But, if you're going to buy stocks and let them sit, and perhaps want a lower margin rate too, this is a valid choice.

The Problems: Getting your statements online appears to hang. With Firefox 2.0.0.12, you get a popup window from cgichicago.com with "Searching for your document..." in it. Firefox under Mac OS X really just downloaded a file something like 'viewpdf2.asp' to your desktop (or wherever your default download directory is). Just rename it to a .PDF and it will work. Annoying.

The Good:
Setting up and getting funded was easy and quick.

Tip for viewing CCS on PDA's

I have a Cingular/AT&T 8525 with Windows Mobile 6. You can view a pairing on CCS if you select the little print icon on a pairing line.

Trying to click the pairing number does nothing, but the print view will pop up.

Also, to get to stuff like MySchedule, since there are no dropdown menus, go to 'menu' at the bottom after logging in. Not immediately obvious.

Hey crackpipe readers.

Mission Space

We have a problem!

Jedi training at Disney Studios

If you want to get picked for Jedi padawan training, then maybe the Darth Vader mask ain't the way to go. (Check the kid on the far right's head.)

Nap time

Tip: find a nice bench to nap on.

Splash Mountain

I was the victim of the largest recorded log to log splash in DW history. Dunno if it shows here but it was literally knee to head covering half my torso.

Mickey's Philharmonic

The kids love this one.

To come:

What not to do or bring to Disney World.

So so tired

Sunday night. 1107pm. Rainforest Café was where we washed up. Wiped out.

Jedi Training Complete

Imagination! Stay tuned for video from the Jedi training show. Fun stuff.

Happy Birthday to me!

I'm at Disney World for my very own mini party!

Frickin' Beauty and the Beast

It's MY birthday and I gotta watch This? I want Star Wars, more Tower of Terror, Rockin' Rollercoaster and for gosh sakes some more cowbell.

Dang kids won't ride the Tower.

Shades of Green vs Disney Vacation Club

Bus to Dee Dub

Shades of Green pales in comparison. It's not part of Disney, and it shows. The couch and bathroom were dirty in edges and corners. 6.95 a day for wifi. Guest services are not as on the ball. The two bellmen just looked at me as I unloaded the car at one point. Never offered help. Aafes price was 45 bucks for a pair of cotton cargo shorts. It was cheap but if you're expecting DW quality it isn't there. Decent at a decent price.

As usual, you get what you pay for. Find someone who owns Disney Vacation Club and reimburse them for your stay using their priveleges. Off season at a real Disney resort isn't much more.
