Candy Tree

A simple plan.

Foam cone from hobby lobby, Tootsie Pops, and popsicle sticks. Glue chocolate candy to the sticks with the open wrapper side out. Glue Dots or candies directly to tree for decoration only.

Insert sticks and popsicle sticks into foam. Voila!

Pick and eat.

Pain, as well as inconvenience, is a relative thing.

I offered to move the TiVo up to the game room for my kids and hook it up to the 55in TV.

(Lest you think we are too spoiled, I got the TiVo with a lifetime subscription for 20 bux at a garage sale. The TV was 150 dollars gently used. It's a decent standard def rear projection.)

We just got power back a few hours ago after Hurricane Ike passed 72 hrs ago.

1.6 million people still do not have power here.

My son's complaint: 'Nooo! I don't want to have to climb the stairs just to watch TV!'

Ahh, so soon the standard is raised again.

Power's Back On! Woohoo!

Power is back on here! Some must still be out because I hear generators running. Or perhaps the folks are away. Internet is back too.

I'm exhausted.

Sienna Plantation Hurricane Ike Aftermath

Power is still out. Generator is still up. Nice day today, it's cool and breezy.

There wasn't much damage around the neighborhood so we are all wondering what is taking so ??@_&: long.

Power trucks have come and gone and looked at things but that's about it.

We're lucky, we can run the deep freeze, a small fridge/water cooler combo we just got a few weeks ago, and some fans.

We use led and led garden lights for nightlights.

The water is on which has always been on. Some areas don't even have that.

More Hurricane Ike Lessons

I like a good beer buzz early in the morning....was that Sheryl Crow? Words of wisdom. I get a feel for the alcoholics need for the juice to function, but only an inkling; brought on by sleeping poorly in a pool of your own sweat and leaning over a poorly functioning generator the day prior trying to isolate the problem.

The generator from Harbor Freight went on the fritz. The Honda is probably worth it. Running it now, but I had to disconnect the low oil sensor. THAT took a while to isolate.

No A/C. At what point do you buy a window unit?

Wonder if HEB sells them? (That's a grocery store.) Not much else open.

In the process of rigging the generator I also got it running off a gas can which should provide 8 hrs of run time.

Above all else, the beer shall remain cold, or bust.

This is my pledge to you, dear roblog reader.

AT&T sucks, Ike don't help

This is the cell phone bridge. Verizon works, AT&T doesn't. At all.
