Twas the night before Christmas

We were hanging our stockings and that whole bit about "The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in the hopes that St. Nicholas would soon be there" gave me pause.

I don't know about St. Nick, but Santa ain't showing until it's time no matter how carefully you hang them, which is what that line says right?

Maybe the dude just used that to rhyme, unawares he was writing a classic for the ages?

Kids: Santa is not showing until after you are ASLEEP and before you wake up.

Now, back to my long winter's nap.
