Cooking Tips for Countertop Convection Ovens
A couple of little tricks we've learned:
1. You can cook a whole full size pizza in the countertop convection oven. Just slice it in half before you cook, and put each half on a separate shelf. Faster, crispier, lower power/gas bill, and you don't heat up the kitchen in the summer. In Houston, that's a big consideration. I can't wait for summer, these temps in high 50's are just too cold.
2. The kids can have hot fresh cinnamon rolls for breakfast, just do a couple at a time and store the rest in the fridge in Tupperware. These are of course quicker too.
3. Pop Tarts are a waste of time. Use the heat gun for this. 2 minutes per tart at most.
(Yes, really. Chefs use blowtorches for creme brulee. Plus you get the tart as crispy as you like. Perfect every time.)
