Netbook / Video TiVo Playback

TiVo desktop is a great way to take portable video with you via a netbook. You will need to download an MPEG 2 codec pack. Google for that and 'sourceforge'. (Ill try to update this post with the one I use.) You can also install a DVD player software package, which will include that.

Now you can download video from your TiVo and play it on a netbook.

If you have problems with the video keeping in sync with the audio, try setting your color depth to 32 bit. It's less work for the CPU to for color translation, I believe.

I have a 1.6 ghz Atom based Lenovo S10 and it will playback hi def TiVo fine.
