AT&T Tethering fee is Stupid

So they want to charge you extra to hook your phone to your laptop to use it to connect to the internet?

They charge you $25 for 2 gigs of data on the plan I'm on.

Charging you extra on how you use it is like the grocery store charging you extra if you want to use your bread to make toast.

I hear though that many of the phones you can buy without a contract don't have tethering crippled, for example the Nexus One. Hint Hint.
