File Too Large: You can't create a huge .DMG on a FAT Drive. Duh
It's not an error, you just need to use an OS X formatted drive when you're making a huge disk image (DMG). FAT (maybe FAT32, can't recall) will throw you an error.
Just get or reformat your drive you are making the DMG on to OS X format. You will lose that data on the drive of course, so make sure you don't need it for anything.
I have a rather pesky and somewhat ugly drive issue going on at the moment, yay. I'm making a disk image of the drive (I have a Time Machine backup too) before I restore from it.
